Time to plan for summer!! Volunteer at Summer Camp

SFU Summer Camps has a great opportunity
for all high school students 14 years and up! Every year SFU Summer Camps recruits energetic, positive and responsible volunteers for our summer camps program. Our volunteers make a big impact at SFU and in the community by being role models and assistants for younger elementary-aged children.
Each volunteer will receive
training, a volunteer t-shirt, an ID tag, constructive evaluations and a reference letter. In addition to this, I am currently developing optional workshops for volunteers to develop and refine resume and cover letter writing skills and interview skills. Volunteers will be under the direct supervision of camp leaders who will help to mentor them to grow into strong leaders and responsible young adults. Each volunteer will create personalized goals, with their instructor, so they can develop their skills as leaders and further their learning. We have high expectations of our volunteers and treat them with respect as we see them as potential instructors in the future. Each volunteer can maximize their experience with us through their goals and will be encouraged to push their boundaries. Important dates to note for the 2013 summer include:
Application Deadline: May 13 Interview Dates: May 21, May 23 Training Session Dates: June 18, June 20 Orientation and Staff Introductions: June 26 The Volunteer Application form is available online at http://www.sfu.ca/camps/employment-volunteering.html
Please note that applicants are expected to
include a current resume and cover letter with the application forms.
Sincerely,
Annette Yung
