2012-13 school year.
Off ered in conjunction withVancouver Community College,
students in Grades 11 and 12interested in a culinary arts career
have the opportunity to learn awide range of professional cookingskills in this program.

RE: Spring Break Gallery Assistant Work Experience Placement

The Vancouver Aquarium is currently recruiting 18 enthusiastic and self motivated students for our Spring Break Work Experience Placement.  As a work experience student, they will be working within a team of students and staff to create the ultimate visitor experience for all of our visitors this spring. Their days will be filled with fun and varied tasks and they will have the opportunity to engage, amaze and inspire thousands of guests of all ages and from all around the world!

Placement Dates:
Group A March 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 24
 ( 6 students)

Group B March 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 and  25
( 6 students)

Group C March 11, 13, 14, 16, 17,19, 20, 21, 24 and 25
( 6 students)

Shifts: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
·         Kiosk Attendant
·         Parking Greeter
·         Line engagement
·         Visitor Surveys
·         Crafts
·         Operating touchpools
·         4D assistant
·         Facepainting

Skills Preferred:
·         Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·         Students currently in Grade 10, 11 or 12.
·         Genuine interest in working with the public
·         Strong communications skills
·         Experience with delivering excellent customer service
·         Second language an asset
Please Note: This is not an animal handling position.  Students will have limited contact with marine animals.
