PNE Youth Council

If you are dedicated, positive, motivated and enthusiastic, PNE Youth Council is giving you an opportunity to develop your leadership skills through workshop and be provided with many unique opportunities and experiences.
 
 
Open to outstanding leadership students in Grades 10-12
(as of September 2014)

Commitment:
To attend the Youth Council's meeting once a month for approx. 3 hours
-it will give the youth a voice in the community
-learn about working of a successful business
-meet business leaders from the PNE and wider community

TD International Jazz Festival

Learn about the audio / visual world

 fulfill volunteer hours for 2 weeks

 

June 20th - July 1st

 

There is a minimum of 20 hours to volunteer, and if the volunteers reach 32 hours, they will receive 2 free concert tickets of their choice along with other great perks of volunteering for the Jazz Festival.  Seats are limited.

 
* When a volunteer recruits at least 3 volunteers who can also volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours, the volunteer referring will be given bonus volunteer hours to bump them to the next volunteer hour tier of 32 hours. 


Event Management and Audio / Visual positions:
  • Staging
  • Front of House(Usher / Box Office / Merchandise / Cashier / Bartender or Bussers)
  • Drum Tech (Transport / Set up / Strike)
  • Artist Hospitality (Catering / Venue Access)
  • Office Admin Roles (Date Entry / Festival Info Officer /Envelope Stuffing / Packet Preparation, etc)

NATURE NINJAS - VOLUNTEERS


Nature Ninjas is a 2-day, overnight camping program for Grade 4 to 7 students in Stanley Park
 

Duties: Help campers set up their tents, assist in the coordination of dinner, including food prep, stove set up and clean up, assist in and possibly lead outdoor educational programs

GREEN CHOICE CAREER FORUM

The YWCA Metro Vancouver High School Mentorship Program is hosting this forum

for girls in grades 8 to 12
 
The forum is for high school girls to learn more about environmental and sustainability-related careers.  This is an opportunity to speak with women who are working to protect the environment, develop new technologies, and find creative solutions.   These professionals will share their career paths and advice in a small group discussions and help the girls learn more about career and educational opportunities.

Play On! Vancouver - Volunteers and Referees Needed

Play On! is a Street Hockey festival with 30+ street rinks, that provides a unique, positive, and affordable recreational hockey experience for youth and adults of both genders and all ages at a grassroots level.

 

JUNE 7 - 8, 2014

 
Play On! are looking for around 100 volunteers, who will get the opportunity to spend the weekend outdoors participating in an exciting event while still collecting volunteer hours.

 
Volunteer Positions include:  event set up, master scoreboard, runner, rink monitor, and more!

Volunteers - Soccer Tournament

Wickham FC is hosting an annual Soccer Tournament on the North Shore

(close to Sutherland at Loutet Park).

April 26 & 27



The tournament is an adult tournament that hosts 24 teams.  Games run from 9:00am - 6:00pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, take-down, selling food at the concession, cleaning the facilities, etc.
