BC's BEST TEEN BAND CONTEST

 (ages between 13 and 18 as of December 31st, 2011)

There’s $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs this year so if you are a talented singer/songwriter (solo artist or in a band) attending a BC high-school, this is the contest for YOU!

SEYMOUR Mountain needs volunteers for winter break!

 Volunteers are needed on Seymour Mountain during the Christmas Break to assist in Various departments.
i.e.  ticket checking, bus greeting, parking.....   You must commit to 8 shifts during the break and upon completion you will be issued a full seasons pass!!

Volunteer for Christmas!!

Help out selling Christmas trees.....or at a Christmas Festival....what a great way to get into the spirit of the season!!


If you're completing the 30 hours for Grad Transitions, make sure you have the form completed while you're there.

...and let me know what you're up to. I like to know if all the volunteer placements are full or not.

'Holiday Gallery Assistant’ Work Experience Placement


The Vancouver Aquarium looking for 18 highly motivated, energetic  GRADE 10-12 students to fill the Holiday Work Experience Placement. This placement will provide an excellent opportunity for students to gain interpretation experience, customer service skills, develop a sense of teamwork and explore career options.

Get your resume and cover letter in to Ms Giraud by THURSDAY Nov. 24
and make sure you state which group you are volunteering for.

Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre    Vancouver Island     Feb 4-7

A Youth Forum is a multi-day immersion experience into marine sciences designed for high school students (grade 11 and 12). Students looking to explore career options in science or a unique work experience placement are encouraged to apply for spring or summer sessions
Immerse yourself in a BMSC Youth Forum and explore the diverse world of marine science. Activities include oceanographic surveys, field trips to wild coastal beaches, hands-on labs and discovering animal and seaweed diversity. Students work on individual or group projects in a supportive, dynamic learning atmosphere at a world-class marine research centre. Each Youth Forum is designed to cover a specific theme from biodiversity, research techniques, marine mammals, seaweeds/plants, and more.
