Sutherland Garden - Volunteers


Each month Queensbury students come out to the Sutherland Garden to learn about growing food.   Sutherland Garden needs volunteers teaching Queensbury students when they have their garden sessions. 

Below is a list of the days that Sutherland students can teach out in the garden. 
  • March 10 (9am-12noon)
  • April 14 (9am-12noon)
  • May 12  (9am-12noon)
  • June 9 (9am-12noon)

Interested students must attend an orientation/training on Feb11 and/or 25 or attend a Sutherland Farm Club session (they meet after school every Thursday in the garden).

Reading Buddies Needed at Queensbury Elem

If you are looking to complete your hours towards Grad Trans or Work Experience Credit, volunteer as one of the reading buddies or tutors at Queensbury Elementary School.  


Let us know your availability (during or after school hours) so we can set you up with one of the students.

Eco Detectives - Summer 2016 Work Experience


Grade 11/12 Work Experience Opportunities Summer 2016
Eco Detectives
Day Camp for Kids in Stanley Park
 
This camp is a wonderful experience to come out and enjoy the forest and beaches of Stanley Park while learning to teach children about the ecology of the Park through games and activities.











For Grade 11 or 12 students who would like to continue their education in Environmental Sciences, Conservation, Public Education and Programming, Teaching, or any related fields.  
 
Looking for students who are:
  • Outgoing
  • Would work well with children
  • Have passion for the great outdoors
40 hours work experience
Students will be supporting a day camp for children ages 7-9
