Residents of the North Shore and beyond are invited to ‘Law Day – 2012 Open House’ at the North Vancouver Provincial Courthouse, 200 East 23rd Street, North Vancouver.
From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a variety of presentations and simulations will be available regarding the many avenues of the criminal justice system, including:

The open house will have information, education and fun for the whole family, including police vehicles and equipment, K9 demonstrations, cell tours, displays and more.

The West Vancouver Police Department, along with the North Vancouver R.C.M.P. will be presenting a simulated crime scene and walk-through of the justice system from arrest to prosecution, and court proceedings.  An ‘adult offence’ simulation will start at 10:00 a.m. and a ‘youth offence’ can be viewed at 1:00 p.m. (courthouse parking lot).

‘Law Day 2012 – Open House’ is organized by the North Shore Family Court and Youth Justice Committee that serves as a link between the community and the justice system.

 The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

A joint conservation initiative between the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF Canada, the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup™, aims to promote understanding of shoreline litter issues by engaging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups.
The Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Ltd., is now one of the largest direct action environmental events in Canada, engaging tens of thousands of participants annually across the nation. Each year, public support and general awareness of the program has increased, inspiring more volunteers to join and make a difference. We hope you will join us in making this year's shoreline cleanup the biggest yet.
