UBC Let’s Talk Science invites high school students to Let’s Talk Bio-Engineering: a one day symposium on the topic of Bio-Engineering. This event will focus on theory and applications of bioengineering, providing insight into the field, introducing students to leading industry and academic professionals, and encouraging students to explore opportunities in science and engineering.

Let's Talk Science is a national, non-profit science outreach organization. We aim to engage students in interactive, science-based activities as a means to improve their understanding and appreciation of physical and life sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

This event is geared towards young women in Grades 10 - 12, but is open to any student interested in participating. Our aim is to encourage the participation of young women in STEM by providing students with a safe environment in which to explore the concepts and applications of bioengineering, and connect with role models in the field. The symposium will be structured around a series of workshops, beginning with a Keynote Speaker, Marianne Black, a PhD Candidate in Bioengineering at Stanford, and concluding with a Q&A period with a panel of industry professionals.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the UBC Let’s Talk Science team at: symposium.ubclts@gmail.com or community@ubclts.com.
