Requirements (the fine print):
  • You have to be at least 16 years old to work at Chipotle
  • You need to be able to communicate in the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Receive up to $5,250 from Chipotle in tuition assistance and up to $5,185 in federal grants each year. Combined with up to 44 earned credit hours from on-the-job training at Chipotle, you could earn your degree for as little as $250 a year.

The Grocery Clerk responsibilities include:

WE’RE HIRING! LOOKING FOR AN OUTGOING SANDWICH ARTIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM!
But first… what is a Sandwich Artist®? The Sandwich Artist is the face of our brand. They are responsible for greeting and serving guests, preparing food, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and handling light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a fundamental of this position.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
  • Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Collects payment from guests and makes change.
  • Performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during the shift.
  • Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner.
  • Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
  • Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
  • Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image. Understands and adheres to the 3-step method for cleaning.
  • Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
  • Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
  • Completes University of SUBWAY® courses as directed
PREREQUISITES
  • Education:  Some high school or equivalent.
  • Experience & Skills:   No previous experience required. That being said a proven ability to understand written and verbal instruction is needed.
  • Physical:  Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Minerals Ed - Spring Break Volunteer Admin Position

MineralsEd is a not for profit educational organization that is dedicated to encouraging and supporting Earth science, mineral resources and mining education in BC schools.

The work experience position is for:
  • 2 students in the role of Education Program Assistant (downtown Vancouver office)

The Program Assistant will assist the MineralsEd Director and Coordinator as needed. This will include: • assist in the assembly of teaching kit materials (e.g. labelling and bagging rock and mineral specimens, collating posters, duplicating files on USBs, compiling experiment kits). Depending on the student's skills may also include: • assist in updating web site entries • assist with online search for useful geology and mining newsThe student will also be introduced to mining related companies and organizations in downtown Vancouver, including those that are hosting other Work Experience students that week


Qualifications - A basic knowledge of Earth science, rocks and minerals • Excellent written and verbal English language skills • Competency using MS Word and MS Excel • Ability to work within and contribute to a small team and to work alone.  
Work Hours Monday -Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm; 30 minute lunch break at noon  

Position is being offered during the week of Spring break from March 23-27.

Escape Adventures - Paid and Volunteer Positions

We hire Gr 8s as volunteers and ask that they commit to 2 weeks of the 2020 season (March Break to end of October).  Gr 9s and older are hired as paid Coaches.  Typical pay is minimum wage - $13.85 until end of May; $14.60 for the rest of 2020.
