Even though this is a band contest, it is open to solo artists as well. As long all the band members and solo artists are between the ages for 13 and 18 they are eligible.

Key Volunteers needed for the Children's Festival

Vancouver International Children’s Festival
May 27 to June 2 2013


Key Volunteers needed NOW! 
ON FANTASTIC GRANVILLE ISLAND!
Jam-packed with music, theatre, dance, acrobatics, puppetry and more,
this year's Kids' Fest will knock your socks off!
Come join in the fun!
One of the world's first and foremost festivals for young audiences,
the Vancouver International Children's Festival has been educating,
entertaining and inspiring young audiences since 1978.
Presenting acclaimed Canadian and international professional
performances, plus numerous hands-on arts activities, the Festival
provides children ages 3-12 with a valuable cultural and educational
experience. Each year the Festival welcomes more than 40,000
children, parents and educators.
To make the Festival run smoothly, volunteers are needed in many
areas including: Arts Activities; Ushering & Box Office; Hosting &
Info; Traffic; Sales; Administration; Security; Pre-Festival Office
Assistance.
We are currently recruiting Key Volunteers for our 2013 Festival!
Recruit & coordinate the volunteers at your school and get a Key
position the week of the Festival. Great for anyone considering a
career in Event Planning & Management! Act quickly! Key Volunteer
Meetings begin December 8!

Youth Forum Experiences with the Public Education Program

A Youth Forum is a multi-day immersion experience in marine sciences designed for high school students (grade 11 and 12). Students looking to explore career options in science or a unique work experience placement are encouraged to apply.

Youth Forum Experiences are held in spring and summer.
Immerse yourself in a BMSC Youth Forum and explore the diverse world of marine science. Activities include oceanographic surveys, field trips to wild coastal beaches, hands-on labs and discovering animal and seaweed diversity. Students work on individual or group projects in a supportive, dynamic learning atmosphere at a world-class marine research centre. Each Youth Forum is designed to cover a specific theme from biodiversity, research techniques, marine mammals, seaweeds/plants, and more.
