The Great Bunny Search needs YOU

We are in need of volunteers to come help out from  9:30-1pm.

The Vancouver Aquarium is currently recruiting 20 for our spring 2013 Work Experience Placement. As a work experience student, they will be working within a team of students and staff to create the ultimate visitor experience for all of our visitors this fall. Their days will be filled with fun and varied tasks and they will have the opportunity to engage, amaze and inspire thousands of guests of all ages and from all around the world!

Group A April 8 – April 28(5 students)
Specific Dates: April 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28

Group B April 29 – May 20 (5 students)
Specific Dates: April 29, May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

Group C May 23 – June 9 (5 students)

Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
·         Kiosk Attendant
·         Visitor Surveys
·         Crafts
·         Operating touch pools
·         4D assistant
·         Face painting
·         Information Desk Attendant
·         Educational Carts

Skills Preferred:
·         Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·         Students currently in Grade 10, 11 or 12.
·         Genuine interest in working with the public
·         Strong communications skills
·         Experience with delivering excellent customer service
·         Second language an asset

Please Note: This is not an animal handling position.  Students will have limited contact with marine animals.

Fire Fighter for a DAY April 17




If you are considering a career in fire fighting, policing, paramedic, the military or any part of emergency services you should attend the FIRE FIGHTER FOR A DAY event April 17.


Only 5 Grade 11/12 students can participate  >>>>> MALE or FEMALE

You will get to play at firefighting in full gear....go into a smoky building...rapel the outside.....go up in a ladder truck, etc.......by the end of this day you will know whether or not  a career in emergency services is for you!!

Museum of Vancouver Youth Council needs YOU

 
The Museum of Vancouver is offering an exciting opportunity to Sutherland Students
                                   Apply NOW  for the 2013 MOV Youth Council!
 


The MOV is looking for 12 curious candidates to participate in the 2013 Youth Council. This year's focus is Upcycling Urbanism and participants will have the chance to meet interesting guests from Spacing Mag to UBC, go behind the scenes at MOV exhibitions, and even produce their own event.

Students meet on Thursdays from 4:00-7:00pm at the Museum of Vancouver each week for 8 weeks between April and May
