RE: Interpretive Delivery Spring Break Work Experience Placement

The Vancouver Aquarium is currently recruiting 20 students for our Interpretive Delivery Spring Break Work Experience Placement.

As a work experience student, they will be working within a team of students, volunteers and staff to create the ultimate educational experience for all of our visitors this spring break. Their days will be filled with fun tasks ranging from face painting to educating about sharks, skates and rays. Throughout their days they will have the opportunity to engage, amaze and inspire thousands of guests of all ages and from all around the world!

1:00 or 2:00 (please indicate preferred interview time.)
Group Interview offers will be made via email.


Mandatory Training:  Saturday March 9th, 2013
                                   9:00am-5:00pm
20 students
March 16-March 31

GROUP A (10 people)
March 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30

GROUP B (10 people)
March 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31

Shift times: 9:15-5:45
Description of Volunteer
Opportunity:
·         Crafts
·         Operating Touchpools
·         In-Gallery Education specific to the Sharks, Skates and Rays feature.
·         Facepainting

Skills Preferred:







Please Note:
·         Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·         Students currently in Grade 10, 11 or 12.
·         Genuine interest in working with the public, particularly children.
·         Strong communications skills
·         Experience with delivering excellent customer service
·         Second language an asset

This is not an animal handling position.  Students will have limited contact with marine animals.
