WInter Break at the Vancouver Aquarium!!

RE: Winter Break Visitor Experience Placement

The Vancouver Aquarium is currently recruiting 14 students for our Visitor Experience Winter Host Work Experience Placement. As a work experience student, they will be working within a team of students and staff to create the ultimate visitor experience for all of our visitors this winter. Their days will be filled with fun and varied tasks and they will have the opportunity to engage, amaze and inspire thousands of guests of all ages and from all around the world!

Sunday November 11, 2012 from 3:30pm – 4:45pm

Mandatory Training:
Sunday December 16, 2012 from 11:00am – 5:00pm


*Short list candidates will be invited for a group interview at the aquarium. Candidates will be contacted by November 7, 2012.

Placement Dates:
Shifts: 9:15am – 4:00pm from December 22 – 25, 2012
            9:15am – 5:00pm from December 26 – January 6, 2013
Group A – 7 days (7 students)
December  22, 26, 30,31, January 3, 4, 6

Group B –7 Days (7 students)
December 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, January 2, 5

Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
·         Kiosk Attendant
·         Plaza Assistant
·         Parking Greeter
·         Visitor Surveys
·         4D assistant
·         Information Desk Attendant
·         Gallery Greeter


Skills Preferred:
·         Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·         Students going into Grade 10 - 12
·         Genuine interest in working with the public
·         Strong communications skills
·         Experience with delivering excellent customer service
·         Second language an asset

Please Note: This is not an animal handling position.  Students will not be interacting with animals.
