Tech Tutors - Lynn Valley Library

The North Vancouver District Public Library

is looking for up to 4 Tech Tutor Volunteers

 

• Who are in grades 10, 11, 12
• Don’t need to be tech wizards, but are willing to explore a variety of questions
• Are patient, supportive and willing engage and interact with adults and seniors
• Can mentor, support and guide adults in learning digital skills
• Are able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with adults, seniors, and library staff
• Are able to keep schedules, notes & statistics; can work together on projects

 

Tech Tutors is a library program that helps adults explore the library’s digital resources and provides help with their technology and computer-related questions.  Adults are matched with a teen volunteer for a one-to-one session, during which they will explore whichever question or topic is of most interest. There may also be the opportunity to work on other projects, including mapping youth services in the Lynn Valley area.

Commitment:  minimum 14 hours over  8 weeks: Thursdays 3:30-5:30 pm, Lynn Valley Library, 1277 Lynn Valley Road. This includes a two hour training session.

All volunteers must complete a criminal record check and those who successfully complete the required hours will receive written confirmation.
