Kidsafe Project - Summer Break Program

Summer Break Program
June 30-August 21, 2015




We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the following position(s)


Food Coordinator Assistant Tasks:  Help KidSafe’s Food Coordinator prepare, cook, and serve a full day of nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our programs!


Activity Leader Assistant Tasks Help KidSafe’s Activity Leaders run fun and educational activities for our children, in 5 subjects: Science & Nature, Health & Wellness, Leadership, Literacy, and Arts & Culture!


Engaged Outreach Assistant Tasks Help KidSafe's Engaged Outreach Leaders ensure our children safely arrive at KidSafe every morning and have a safe journey home at the end of the day. We are looking for volunteers to assist with our KidSafe walking and driving school bus throughout our break programs.

Volunteer Requirements: 
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Volunteer must be at least 15 years old with the exception of Engaged Outreach Assistant

Flow Fest - Studio in the City



If you are looking for more hours, we are organizing FLowFEST a DJ/Dance/ Flow Arts Party
at the Shipbuilders Square by the Lonsdale Quay

Saturday, May 23rd.

 

We need help from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and them from 6-10 p.m. You can also try your hand at slack lining, break dancing, and a bunch of other cool activities. If you are under 19 you will have to have a parent/guardian sign a waiver.

Volunteers - Chinatown Festival Aug 8-9

Students are invited to participate and support the upcoming 16th Vancouver Chinatown Festival on August 8 and 9, 2015.

 
During the festival, students will work in a variety of posts, such as:
  • Cultural Corner
  • Kids Corner
  • Theme Area
  • Main Stage
  • Day Market
  • Volunteer Tent
  • Streetfest

The Festival provides an informal environment in which volunteers meet others who desire an opportunity to take part in multicultural events.

-help set up and take down tables & chairs at the Banquet/dance

Part Time Job - Lonsdale Creek Day Care


Lonsdale Creek Daycare is currently hiring a Cleaning Person for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week from 3:30-5:30pm.
 
Job Description:
  • Load and run dishwasher
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Vacuum carpets
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Garbage disposal


  • Play yard cleanup
  • Occasional help with children
 
Job Requirements:
  • Must be 15 years or older
  • Must be available five days a week, Monday-Friday
  • Start date: June 1, 2015
  • Wage: $10.50/hr plus 4% holiday pay
