Vancouver Aquarium -Spring Work Experience Placement

We are looking for 18 (14 full-time, 4 part-time) highly motivated, energetic students to fill the Spring Camp Work Experience Placement. This placement will provide an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience working with children in an educational setting, work on their communication and leadership skills, develop a sense of teamwork and explore career options.


Title: Spring AquaCamp Educator
Job Description:  Assist with the preparation, delivery and clean-up of Spring Camp program. Enhance participants’ experience through group activities using hands-on, interactive activity stations and props. Help supervise and lead small groups of children during play and gallery exploration time.

Deadline: Friday, February 13th by noon

Mandatory Training:  Sunday March 1st 10am to 4pm
Specific Training: Saturday, February 28th, 10:00-3:00pm
Self-Tour Time:  Anytime during the week of March 2nd


Choose Full or Part Time
Full Commitment:
Two full weeks during Spring Break, 8:30 – 3:30 daily

  • Pedalheads Bike Camps is a 10 level bike safety and skills camp.  You will teach children aged 2-12 to ride their bikes safely and skillfully. It’s a great job for those who love working with children or who are looking to gain leadership experience.
  • You must be turning 17 by December 31st of this year.
  • There's no need to be an expert biker!
  • You will get a paid training session before the start of camp.
  • Shifts range from 2.75 - 7 hours/day. Wage ranges from $10.25 - $13.00

MineralsEd invites secondary students to attend AME BC's Mineral Exploration Roundup on Jan. 26 to learn about the modern minerals industry and the diversity of careers it offers. This experience will benefit those interested in:

  • Earth Science
  • Mining
  • Engineering
  • or related fields such as business and accounting, investment banking and securities, environmental management, back country expediting, etc.

Our program will include a presentation by mining executive,

  • Haytham Hodaly, Sr. VP Corporate Development with Silver Wheaton,

as well as by several young professionals by working in different fields in the minerals industry:

Our student guides will also share insights on their backgrounds and their educational or work experiences in their field so far.

Uncover your Creeks is a citizen science training program combined with stewardship activities.  By monitoring water quality and removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants, students can help to ensure that Mahon's Park's Wagg Creek waterway remains a vital and functioning park of the urban ecosystem.
