is looking for up to 4 Lego Robotics Volunteers

Who are in grades 10, 11, 12
- Enjoy working with younger children
- Are patient, supportive and willing to try different ways of engaging children
- Can mentor, support and guide children to learn new skills
- Can help children focus on the activity and encourage positive behaviours
- Are able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with children, parents and library staff
Lego Robotics is a library program
co-sponsored by North Shore Community Resources that helps kids learn digital
literacy skills. Working in pairs, and
with the guidance of library staff and teen volunteers, students in grades 5-7
use an online manual and kit to create their own robots from Lego.
Commitment: 12 hours over 6 weeks: Wednesdays 3:30-5:30 pm, Parkgate Library, 3675 Banff Court.
This includes a two hour training session.

All volunteers must complete a criminal record check and those who successfully complete the required hours will receive written confirmation.
