Evergreen - Volunteer Event Photographers

Metro Vancouver: Event Photographers

Application Deadline: Jan 31, 2017
Start date/term of position: 3 hours/month, minimum 3 events in 2017

Event Photographers capture the essence of Evergreen by taking photos of people, activities and sites and submitting them electronically to our communications team. Photos are used in a variety of Evergreen’s communication tools, helping spread the word about how Evergreen connects communities and nature.

What you bring: You have strong photography experience with your own digital camera (ideally SLR). You are a people person who loves capturing the action and energy of events, and are comfortable shooting in both indoor and outdoor settings. The role also involves engaging with the public when taking photos.

When & where: Photographers are all cross Metro Vancouver to capture images of the innovative and engaging work Evergreen is doing. A definite plus would be a volunteer who are able to photograph events in areas outside of Vancouver. Travel and parking expenses will be reimbursed. Work is often outdoors, rain or shine.

How we’ll support you: You will report to Evergreen staff who will provide orientation, training, guidance and direction throughout your term. An initial orientation and training session will be held at Evergreen's office and you will receive regular communications from Evergreen to keep you informed.

Perks: Event photographers will receive public credit with all photos used and will have the opportunity to participate in many of Evergreen’s great events. You will also have the chance to see the programs Evergreen offers.

Good to know: Event photographers will be screened in part based on photographic skills as well as long-term availability and will need to sign an agreement with Evergreen to serve in this role.  The size of the team is limited.
