Women in Science at the SPACE CENTER Meet Roberta Bondar and more!

June 16, 1963, cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova climbed into the Vostok 6 Soviet space craft on her way to becoming the first woman in space.

May 9, 7 pm - Finding Your Path to Engineering and Science: From Taxidermy to Robots - Maxime Chin
Animal Biology Mechanical Engineering:  two different degrees, one successful path
Maxime Chin is a UBC graduate who will begin her career with Shell in May 2013 as a production engineer. 



June 13, 7pm – Transforming Human-Robot Interaction - Dr. Elizabeth Croft
Finding ways to help humans and robots to work together.
Dr. Croft is a professor at UBC; NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering, BC-Yukon at UBC; and leader of the WWEST program for women in engineering, science and technology.
