Genome BC Geneskool Summer Camps! This year Genome BC Geneskool Summer Camp will be held at Capilano University in North Vancouver from August 20th to 24th.http://www.genomebc.ca/education/outreach-programs/geneskool-camp. This week-long day camp provide university lab experiences for students entering grades 10 through 12. Students will:
- Investigate the world of forensics and genetics
- Learn current molecular techniques in state-of-the-art lab facilities
- Explore diverse applications of genetic technologies
- Consider the science from social and ethical perspectives
- Tour the hosting university campus
- Create friendships with people that have similar interests and aspirations
- Find out if they would like to pursue a career in the field of science
- Learn about blood type analysis
- Experience "university life"
- Get an "edge" on university applications
- Become a sleuth and learn how to lift fingerprints & analyze blood splatter Have fun!
